Yoga + Mind/body Medicine
September 28, 2016 - October 2, 2016
Yoga is good chemistry. If you practice or teach yoga, you are aware of its profound healing impact. In this groundbreaking program synthesizing traditional yoga with modern integrative medicine, we practice and discuss yoga from both a left-brain rational understanding as well as a right-brain view toward feeling and sensing the body’s intuitive energy systems.
Using the yogic chakra map as a guide, we explore how it aligns almost identically to the body’s endocrine system, what that means for our health, and how we can use yogic insights to heal our bodies from the inside out in the deepest way possible. We also learn the latest scientific evidence showing how yoga and meditation effect our biochemistry, physiology, brain function and structure and even genomic expression.
If yoga makes you feel a certain way, this program will help you to understand the why, as well as the how, to reaching a deeper mind body balance. This program will take us to a state of peace, allowing ourselves to heal our bodies, our communities and nature, especially today, in our fast paced modern age. Journey with us to the cutting edge of modern yoga and health.
Pre-requisite: one year of consistent yoga experience.
*This course counts towards 50 hours for the Blissology Yoga 500 hour certification. Or you can earn 50 Yoga Alliance CEUs.
